I had been shooting with my Dad's old Canon pro equipment since I was a toddler. At the age of 18 I started to think about photography in a more serious manner. After a year or so, my Dad showed me that I really knew nothing about proper exposure, composition, or light. I started to learn the technical side of photography and fell in love with it all over again. I could not paint, I could not draw, but I could shoot whatever the hell I wanted, however the hell I wanted to. I stuck mostly to cityscapes and abstracts. A few years ago, a friend asked me if I would help him shoot weddings, I said no because I didn't shoot people and didn't want to intrude my perception of photography on someones wedding day images. A year later, one of the best photographers I have even known in person asked me why I never shoot people. I scratched my head to that question, and since then, people have made up 90% of what I shoot. I work for a boutique studio now, as chance would have it, I now shoot for that same friend who asked me years ago to shoot weddings. People and fashion is now a passion more so than a hobby - it's my escape from the world of weddings; into the grit, glamour, ferocity, beauty and emotion of that thing we are all in - the human condition.
