About Me

* 2026: Books are closed through July. Open for August and Beyond!
* Note: I am not a glamour/boudoir photographer. I am producing a body of artistic work around a specific concept, and I am only looking to work with people who are interested in being a part of it.

I am a photographer based in Toronto, and I have been pursuing photography creatively for more than 15 years. I take my art very seriously, but I am not a very serious person.

For the past 10 years I have focused primarily on fine art nudes, using dramatic colours and lighting to create images that feel emotionally charged, surreal, and psychological.

I want to create emotionally expressive work that is unified by a concept. I'm not particularly interested in traditional standards of beauty in art. In my images, I try to explore dualities, vulnerability, transformation, symbolism, and tensions between power dynamics. I prefer that models not engage with the camera because I want our work to feel like it captures a moment in action, rather than a performance for the audience. I want the images to unsettle, more than they titillate or excite. Typically, this requires dynamic and sometimes "unflattering" poses, rather than statuesque poses and stoic expressions.

Expressive faces are very important to me, and I love to capture the unique features of each person I work with. In my photography and editing, I try to preserve a model's natural features without smoothing them into something generic or overly polished.

Currently trying to limit myself to working only with models who express enthusiasm for my work, whether those models are experienced or inexperienced. I'm happy to trade with new models building their portfolio, but only within the confines of my ongoing project. In terms of professional art models, I am happy to pay for time and experience, but regardless of experience, I am looking to work with models who have a natural ability to convey emotion in their work (and ideally, some enthusiasm about the concept I am working on).

Contact via instagram DM is generally most convenient.
I will answer MM messages if or when I see them.

"I have worked with Rab in both a group setting and at his home studio. He is wonderful to work with. He is quite versatile in skill, but clearly has a preference working with geled lighting. He is quite good at describing the emotions he's looking for - vaguely, to allow for creative interpretation and a genuine collaboration in creation. He is open to suggestions, and he captured and returned images of me far different than those I had received from thousands of other photos - even other photographers using gel lighting. I highly recommend working with Rab!" Read less
