With a career spanning over three decades, Jeralddinesh is one of the few remaining practitioners of true large format photography in India. His journey began not behind the lens, but in the heart of the darkroom. As a seasoned laboratory specialist, he mastered the complex chemistry of archival film processing long before the digital age. This deep technical foundation allows him to see light and tone in a way few others can.
The Craft: The "view camera (8x10 & 4x5)
Jerald specializes in the deliberate, meditative art of 8x10 and 4x5 large format photography. Using what he colloquially calls the "A view camera"—a nod to the raw, grounded, and physical nature of these massive bellows cameras—he creates images that possess a depth, detail, and "organic" feel that digital sensors simply cannot replicate.
