For starters, I absolutely love everything about hair. As a hairstylist for now almost 5 years in an established salon I don't feel that what I do is work, it is pure pleasure.

Background: After a year in college as a fashion major, I realized I really wanted to do hair. In 2006 I enrolled as a part-time student at The Capri Institute for Cosmetology. Only a few months after enrolling I was hired full-time as an assistant and receptionist in a local salon. This salon seemed to need some help so I stepped forward and started organizing files, getting things in order and made it look and feel more professional overall. For almost 2 years my everyday schedule was: work 9am-3pm and school 3:30pm-9:30pm. I also took classes outside of school and became certified in make-up artistry and hair extensions. I graduated and achieved my cosmetology license in 2008 and soon after was promoted to "behind the chair" in my salon. Today I am still at the same salon I originally started in and have been recently titled as manager. I attend further education classes often and am currently in the process to teach them as well.

Texture is my favorite word. Although I do everything from up-do's to color to cuts, I've been known for my "edgy" styling. I love a challenge and strive for perfection in everything I do.

Outside of the salon experience:
I've been on photo-shoot sets and work well with photographers. (hair and make-up)
I've done wedding parties and worked with multiple brides. (hair and make-up)

A goal I've set for my future is to one day manage and own a trendy/edgy salon. Specifically with an industrial design with a warm and friendly environment:]
