About Me
I have a wide range of photographic interests from pinhole and alternative processes to large-format, but I find shooting the female nude in black and white most challenging. To date I have worked mostly using old-fashioned black and white film and wet darkroom processes, but am fully equipped digitally.
I am always looking for intelligent, confident, open-minded models as pathways to exploration in the realm of art photography. For my own work, I prefer bodies that are unpierced, unshaved, and untattooed--unless the tattoos are REALLY over the top, and then they become interesting for other reasons. There are exceptions to all rules. I usually work in my in-house studio, but can sometimes travel. I would love to hear from models by e-mail that live in the North Bay area (north of San Francisco) or plan to travel in the area (ctalcroft at yahoo.com). I have mostly done black and white art nudes (which I continue to do), but I am interested now also in doing more adventurous color work. My business dealings are simple. Model for me as a nude art model, I pay you $40 an hour in front of the camera and give you digital copies of a few of the best shots (at my discretion) for your portfolio. Ideas welcome. I lived in Japan for 20 years, which is why most of my models are Asian. Note that the B.B. King shot was done in a setting where I was unable to control the lighting, unfortunately (during a chat in his Tokyo hotel room). Thanks for all the friend requests. I appreciate your support. I mean no offense to anyone, but I'd like to keep my friends list to people I've talked with enough to know I'd click with in real life (and to people I do actually know!). In the review they said the car was so sexy it deserved to be photographed by Jean-Loup Sieff or Colin Talcroft. I was surprised to be put in such company, but pleased. The review is at http://www.blenheimgang.com/site/car/test/tuscan.htm in case anyone is interested (in French).
