About Me

I've always loved taking pictures for my friends and family, but it wasn't until I was in my second year of college that I decided that was what I wanted to do with my life. I took a photography course and fell head over heels in love with it. The process of developing a picture, the ebb and flow of light particles, the way the model's face lit up when they saw their final picture. Everything thrilled me!

After I finished up that semester, I learned of the Disney College Program and quickly made my way down to Florida to participate. Unfortunately, I didn't get into the photopass portion of it, but every opportunity I had to take a picture for a guest, I did.

I quickly learned the differences between competing DSLR cameras and later that year my parents purchased one for me. It was a standard DSLR. Your basic camera. A beginner's camera, if you will. But I soon found that I wasn't just a beginner. I found that I had an eye.

I delved into research. Found certain photographers' styles that appealed to me and which ones I disliked. Whenever I had my own picture taken, it bothered me when backgrounds were unappealing (for example, if there was a trash can behind me or if a pole was sticking out of the top of my head) or if I were out of focus (and not the artsy kind where you focus on one particular element in the image).

A few years passed. I did more research and purchased a slightly higher quality DSLR, even if it weren't considered "professional". My skills were put to the test. My friends realized that they wanted pictures for head shots, and they knew where to come. My reputation began to grow. A friend was getting married and asked me to do her photos for her wedding. I nervously agreed, and a whole photo album later, I had her arms wrapped around me in a tight hug and felt her tears of joy.

A few years, dozens of shoots and thousands of pictures later, I'm still a beginner. I know that no matter how many pictures I take, I can still learn. But I would love the opportunity to further both my profile and my subjects' profiles.

I currently have dozens of ideas for projects that I'd like to see become a reality. Eventually, that list will both grow and shrink, and if you're interested, I'd love to have you as a part of my work.

E-mail is the easiest way of contacting me to set up a shoot. Afterwards however, phone numbers will be exchanged and text will be your best bet of getting in touch with me.
