About Me

I am a photographer and multidisciplinary visual artist (realism), with my artwork focusing mainly on graphite pencil drawing, oil painting, and some sculpture. I exhibit my photography and artwork, and I was a finalist for Beautiful Bizarre Magazine's Emerging Artist Award in 2023.

With both my photography and my art, my goal is to produce something really beautiful that would be at home in an art gallery, so I am always pushing to have this next painting, this next shoot, this next photo be the best one I've ever done, so I like to explore, get creative and really try to push some aspect of my skill forward every time. I have kind of a diverse educational background, which includes engineering, so I build some of my own custom lighting modifiers if what I want doesn't exist, and I really enjoy when a concept calls for me to build, sew, or 3D print something to make it work.

As far as the motivation behind my artwork and photography, I really hate arbitrary artistic, physical, and sexual repression. The idea that the human body is something that people should be ashamed of is nonsense. That type of thinking is dehumanizing, and constantly fixated on the female body, which is still viewed as something immoral and dangerous that needs to be covered and controlled. That kind of mentality is mind-bogglingly dumb, and really irritates me that people think that way. So I make art and photography that reflects my feelings: that humans are complex integrated beings, and that you can't just strip away whole aspects of people and still view them as people. So I try to make art that uses beautiful imagery to connect the viewer with the subject in a way that the viewer can connect with and appreciate the physical beauty, and humanity of the person depicted.

I recently relocated to LA from Colorado with my cats and dog, and we are really enjoying the palm trees!
