Friends (18)About Me
I began photography as a child, with nothing but curiosity and a few patient friends in front of my lens. From those first quiet sessions grew a lifelong devotion to portraits and to the female figure—what I think of as womanscape: not simply a body, but a landscape of emotion, presence, and light.
Today I work with first-class equipment, heavy and demanding, yet I gladly carry it all. I want to be ready for whatever the sky, the wind, or a passing cloud decides to offer. The atmosphere is never static, and neither is my attention. Places matter deeply to me. I don’t use locations as decoration; I listen to them. Searching for the right place is already part of the photograph, long before the shutter is ever pressed. A day spent in such a place, working with a model, watching the images appear in tethering as they are born, is intensely alive—a shared moment of discovery, where reality slowly turns into something more fragile and more precise. But photography, for me, is not about going out and shooting every single day. It is about taking images and then living with them. Studying them. Letting them reveal their mistakes, their accidents, and their quiet successes. Only through this slow dialogue do I really learn what I saw—and what I missed. Behind the camera there is also time: long years spent studying the art of photography, the history of art, and the cultural currents that flow beneath every image. No photograph is ever isolated; it carries with it the echoes of everything that came before. The camera captures an instant. The mind, and culture, need time to understand it.
