I grew up around photography nuts, and have had a variety of film and digital cameras over time, but only in the past few years have become properly serious about shooting. Something just "clicked," as it were, and I dove headfirst into both the artistic and technical sides of study.  I generally work in manual mode, am reasonably good at natural-looking retouching when appropriate, and am comfortable working with ambient, continuous, and flash/strobe lighting schemes.  I'm here hoping to connect with others who're also working to expand their experience and portfolio.

As for the name, that grew out of a bifurcation in my approach to things.  My first name is both uncommon and, even more these days, carries with it connotations that aren't particularly favorable.  Over time, I developed a habit of introducing myself as "Mike" (which is similar) in professional contexts.  That became how I thought of myself for work matters, but the casual side of things is still "me."  Thus the name, Mike And Me Photography - it's the juxtaposition of my professional and more relaxed sides.  The logo, in turn, is derived from that - the tie for business, the moon for play ... and a nod to my nightowl tendencies.

Regarding the kind of shoots I'm looking to do, my general intent is to stay SFW, or at least Insta-safe, as it were.  I have no interest in getting into 2257-related things, and I believe my "Genres" list is currently accurate.  This apparently makes me a bit of an odd duck here, but, hopefully, there's still a niche for me.
