Once upon a time, in the distant past, I owned a couple of studios specializing in portfolio/head shot photos for modeling agencies and aspiring models. As the business grew, the daily requirements of running a business transitioned what had been a pleasurable experience into a job. The responsibilities and demands eroded the original passion that drew me to the profession. I stepped away from what had become a grind and opted for a path with less brain damage and certainly a superior income stream. Then, many years later, without having completed any modeling assignments in the interim, I ran across my portfolio that had been collecting dust in boxes of film sleeves. The hundreds of photos refreshed old memories and rekindled the love of creating “the shot” and reminded me of how much I missed it. So, my interest in joining this community is to update a portfolio that is strewn with outdated hair styles, methodologies, and equipment and move into the digital world that offers far superior capabilities compared to the Pentax days. I seek to see if that fire still burns and to test my ability to again garnish the vision to create that elusive “shot”.
