At 37 years old, holding a business degree, why would I attempt to start modeling now?
Growing up, I viewed modeling and photography with fascination and wonder. Though my upbringing shuffled me towards taking on a career in the trades, I never let go of that dream.
I took up photography as a hobby in my late teens and started landscape and still life shoots. Amateur at best, I still got behind the camera and thought "One day I'll be in front of the camera, as well as behind it."
Photography led me to become a 2nd shooter and videographer for a few weddings and other events, but nothing came close to modeling other than a few Comicons and Halloweens dressing in cosplay.
At age 33, undergoing a complete upheaval and pivotal situation in my life, I decided to throw up a risk and started an Only Fans. Only lasting a few years and very little success, I learned to view myself in a different light. Battling body dysmorphia, negative thoughts, and who I was as a person, gave way to a new journey of self identity and awareness.
I was able to find my style of editing, how I wanted to be seen through my images, and learned to not take it so seriously. I learned how to have fun, how to create what I wanted to create, and not be ashamed of who I was or how I looked. Even though cocktail dresses and formal gowns didn't really fit my body. Or leave much to the imagination.
I have grown quite a bit in the last few years, with my limited experience, and am excited to see what happens next.
