To be honest at first it was because it was something I was good at. Then later on it evolved into something more. While my time at college I just thought photography as hobby. Then when I learned how photography shaped history that’s when things changed. Another factor that kept me motivated was listening to advice from other photographers and hear how they became the person they are today. So I decided to push myself and take my art to the next level. This where things might go on a tangent but bear with me here . When I was taking photography 1 my sophomore year in college I went to ren faire and took a bunch of photos for a project. I got a B on the assignment. There was one photo I took but I left it in the photo lad because I didn’t have a folder and I didn’t want the ink to get smudged. Someone saw the photo I took and it created a buzz in a group chat I was not apart of . They liked it . That’s when I knew I could do it. While my time at university I volunteer at the ren fair as a photographer. I met a videographer this year and he said my work was valued around 500 to 700 dollars . As an artist that made me realize my work was worth more than I gave it credit for. Then I did two engagement photo shoots . Both at different time frames . I did get paid for my time . Then I did my first wedding and got paid for it . Then I did two graduation shoots and got paid for that shoot to. I even talked to other professionals in the field and they considered my work already at a professional level. I’m still learning my craft . What I can say is no matter you have to keep going . Keep shooting and keep editing but also find the joy in what you do. That is the biggest motivator right there. keep pushing past limits you didn’t know you had and keep creating. Each tiny little baby step will lead you where you need to go .
