My name is Amber Vickers, and I’m a professional hairstylist and colorist currently working as an independent stylist at Platinum House Salon in Midland, Michigan. Hair has been more than a career for me. It has become a creative outlet where art, transformation, and storytelling come together.
Over the years I’ve specialized in advanced color work, including dimensional blonding, balayage, lived-in color, and fashion color. I’m always studying technique and pushing myself creatively so that every guest who sits in my chair leaves feeling more confident and seen.
One of the milestones in my career was being selected as a Professional Beauty Association Beacon Award recipient in 2022, which allowed me to connect with industry leaders and expand my education in editorial styling, runway work, and advanced color design. Experiences like that opened my eyes to how powerful collaboration can be within the beauty and fashion industries.
While I love working with my salon guests every day, I’m also deeply inspired by editorial and fashion-driven beauty. I’m especially drawn to bold color stories, avant-garde texture, and artistic concepts that allow hair to become part of a larger visual narrative.
That’s one of the reasons I’m excited to join a creative community like this one. Photography, makeup, styling, and hair all influence each other, and when artists collaborate, the work becomes something much bigger than any one person could create alone.
I’m here to connect with photographers, models, makeup artists, stylists, and other creatives who want to experiment, build portfolios, and bring imaginative concepts to life. Whether it’s editorial shoots, fashion projects, or artistic collaborations, I’m always looking for opportunities to create something visually striking and meaningful.
