I’m Justin, a digital marketer by day and a passionate photographer during evenings and weekends. My home studio in west Portland is where I craft clean, minimalist portraits that focus on the unique character of every person I'm fortunate to photograph.

What I Do

I create portraits of adults, focusing on individuals. My style is simple yet impactful: no props, no distractions—just you. This approach keeps the spotlight on the person, letting their story come through. Working primarily in a controlled studio environment, I use lighting and atmosphere to bring out the best in every session. Inspired by photographers like Richard Avedon, Peter Lindbergh, and Martin Schoeller, I aim to create timeless, authentic portraits.

How I Work

Photography for me isn’t a business—it’s a collaborative process and outlet to create. Collaboration allows us to combine ideas, perspectives, and talents, leading to images that are richer and more meaningful than anything we could create alone. I work exclusively on a trade-for-print (TFP) basis—no money changes hands. Instead, I’m focused on building a community of like-minded creatives. I’m excited to work with models, makeup artists, and stylists who are passionate about refining their craft and creating work they can be proud of.

My current studio is in our 1960s mid-century modern home, complete with floor-to-ceiling windows for natural light and a spacious, private studio if the sun isn't cooperating. From the moment you arrive, I want you to feel welcome and at ease. We’ll start with a relaxed conversation—reviewing mood boards, planning wardrobe, and setting the tone for the session. Together, we’ll experiment with lighting and styling to create images that showcase your unique character.
