About Me
I am now in Missouri / Kansas about 3 weeks a month (Willing to travel up to 4 hours for the right match or price)
Presently, in New Orleans, only about 4 times a year. (I am willing to adjust my schedule for the right project) Also available along the route between Missouri and Louisiana, i.e., Mississippi, Memphis, Oklahoma, Arkansas Planning a Kentucky/Tennessee & Western NC visit this summer (2025) as well as a Maine Visit (Both Via Car) NOTE WHEN MESSAGING ME: Messages get responded to before tags. BEST PRACTICE, include dates in the subject so I know to jump on it vs a stale message from 2 weeks ago. Travel dates change. If you say you'll be in town in 3 months, follow up as you plan, and dates get narrowed down. It's my home base. I'm always here, or almost always. I don't know what I'm doing next month. Thus, saying you'll probably be here in 3 months is not something firm I can reply to -- Schedules change too much. Let me know again a couple of weeks out. Now ABOUT ME: I'm a photographer and rigger with a style that leans towards the alternative: from tame to extreme, showing a flair for horror, off-the-wall, emotional, and haunted circus shows, both restrained (i.e., shibari) and pushing the boundaries, often throwing in a little pin-up for a touch of added pow. I specialize in showing variety and am great with impromptu sets, from simple to fully-themed photo stories. Think freak show, passion, emotion, cosplay, medieval dungeon, iniquity, religious crusades, in-your-face public, long lost nature, abandoned property, historic, bi-polar, bloody bathtub, or some blend thereof, and anything with rope or "sinsation." Oh, and I am a sucker for body parts: feet, hands, toes, eyes, bellies, chins, etc. I am looking for bold people. Do you want to be bold but think you aren't quite there yet? That's fine too. We'll see what we can make happen. Creativity, skills, and wardrobe, while not necessary, will help you move forward. If not, plan for extra time as we work out the details that work for us both. Expect a discussion before shooting, and be ready to say what you bring to the table. I want to show real emotion and variety. 90% of my work is TF. Not just for portfolio! If we work together, a signed release is required. Paid sets are rare. Thus, you must sell yourself. Instead, most models have their own market. Therefore, part of the pay is your pictures; if you want dollars, the tradeoff may result in getting limited photos. (i.e., Fewer, and lower resolution images) NOTE: Stipends are different from payment and are easier to cover. If you message me, sell yourself. What do you bring to the table? At least tell me what caught your eye and what your goals are on the shoot. Remember, selling yourself is not pushy. There is a difference. Pushy makes me run away. Touching base occasionally or letting me know you're visiting or if a gig is coming up is generally not pushy when done within reason. RATES: I have pay rates as well as rates I charge. Rarely are my rates at full street price for either: 85% of my shoots do not include any money exchanged. 10% are more in the range of a stipend, leaving less than 5% as cash transactions. Thus, my rates are on a sliding scale based on your flexibility, as well as my availability and love of your project. TRADES (Rates are affected and reduced by things I trade for): Pics (signed release) What are they worth?(1 & 2 below) If it's a smaller shoot, say half an hour or so, then food (coffee or lunch) is a viable trade. I have a stack of wholesale spa & massage gift certificates typically valued at $99+/hour I trade for housing. I have a queen bed, two futons, a blow-up mattress, a love seat, and floor space. Experience: Shibari is an experience, not just something for pictures. It can be a struggle and painful, and that's not for everyone, but also what gives authentic emotion to the images we capture. It creates a passion that can be seen in the pictures. **I generally choose models whose passion is making the content the art.** 1: I trade for pics. Keep in mind that many people seek me because they like my work. I do not work for a major publisher or website; thus, I have no big budget. 2: I trade for promotion. If I can sell my work, you can too. Build a name, sell prints/content through your page, and more. Do you think you are worth more than trade? First, sell yourself to me. Second, sell yourself to others. If you come up with funding, the whole project becomes doable. Reiterating: If my photos are so valuable, and you are worth the money. Requesting payment may mean you give up the rights to use the images and will receive limited copies. NOTE: When I trade, I try to be flexible, make fewer demands, and do quicker, more fun sets. In short, trades end up with a laissez-faire, laissez aller, laissez le bon temps roulé feel. also on Zivity: http://www.zivity.com/users/tyruselias
