My name is Anastis, also known as 'The Baron', hence Baron Anastis. My father was a hobby photographer and it is through him that I had my first photographic experiences. I loved his work and I thought of him as super talented, from his work I developed a real interest in photography and started shooting photos when I was 16 years old. He an old school photographer and to this very day I still use his analogue cameras. I once tried the transition to digital but I find myself drawn to the very particular value, character, and respect that shooting on film has to offer.

I am a very artistic and creative person, also a professional musician and a published model. I love and appreciate other cultures and I travel often for my work.

I like to think of myself as photographical psychologist.
What I am hoping to achieve is to remove all the damage that society has inflicted on the person in front of my camera so that she can begin her therapeutic work. I need the model to regress into authenticity. I need them to trust me enough the become as vulnerable as they were the day society told them that vulnerability is unacceptable, as vulnerable as the day they were born. I need them to remove what they have been told is the truth and find their own truth. This is what I want my models to understand: the body is a metaphor of societal rules and expectations. Fashion, beauty, sexuality and gender are social constructions. I long to capture the most natural you that you can be and tell me who that is.

I shoot exclusively in analogue and I am always looking for models
