About Me
One day I typed "girls with guns" into Google image search. The results were horrifying.
There is no reason why this kind of photography has to be tacky, offensive, or badly done. Yet it almost always is. I'd like to change that. Things you won't see here: Girls licking guns Girls pointing guns at cameras*, themselves, or other models Girls in bikinis Oh-so-clever phallic references Unsafe gunhandling Things I hope you WILL see here: Photos that capture a moment of an interesting story Photos with a little bit of humor Dignity for all involved. The images I currently have on this profile are a rough indication of some of the thematic directions I would like to go in. They all need more attention to makeup, backgrounds, lighting, and post-processing. The real thing will have all of that. I also want to enable other photographers. I would like to see lots of different visions and styles in this theme. I am especially, but not exclusively, interested in working with female photographers. So, models and photographers, if you think "girls-with-guns photos that don't suck" is even slightly interesting as an idea, let's talk. * Yes, okay, I acknowledge that sometimes this is done deliberately by those who know better, in order to make an editorial or stylistic point. Sometimes it results in a great image; you'll see a few in my "redeem the genre" list. I still won't do it. Verified Credits (0)Worked with I Plough the Sea? Thanks to Emma Lee "Feyith" (MM #453113) for her enthusiasm, patience, and willingness to experiment.
Thanks to Kari Marie (MM #390875) for moral support and a nearly unending stream of good advice. Thanks to anyone who is willing to give this a try. Thanks to Lt Col Jeff Cooper for codifying the four rules of firearms safety: - All guns are always loaded. Believe it. Act accordingly. - Don't point a gun at anything you're not willing to destroy. - Keep your finger off the trigger until your sights are aligned on the target and you are ready to fire. - Be sure of your target and what is beyond it. Remember, kids, you have to break TWO of these in order to hurt someone by accident.
