Friends (6)About Me
Peace All,
I recently fell back in love with oil painting, which inspired a return to my more lyrical figurative work (delicate and detailed) but encourages me to utilize all that I've learned in the past 15 years of gradually moving toward abstract environments and characters (thick, open, multimedia) until the figure disappeared. Now that I don't need to "see" the figure at work, I can finally trust the figure at work. These worlds have come together at last with a new collection of works titled, "Re-birthing Kiskeya: Descendent's Work", which requires a more traditional approach that includes working with models again. This is a really exciting time. This work is going to include my first truly large-scale pieces, will mix found objects, constructions and painting and feels like something wonderful is coming. I have been an artist's model back in the day and consider it an art form so I think of working together as a collaboration. Models, I'm looking forward to meeting you, learning about where your path is leading you and understanding how you feel we should work together. Here's to amazing new artwork! Anything is possible as long as we're willing to dream it to manifest it. ARTIST STATEMENT ---------------- Making art for me starts with those moments in Life that immediately strike me as lessons. When the underlying tale begins to emerge, I simply follow that energy. P.S... Always on the look out for make-up artists who use natural, eco-friendly and kindly made products (for live shows); stylists and designers who recycle vintage and thrifty threadz...
