Aristotle's second element of drama was the character. A good story is told with great characters. An actor's job is to perform actions onstage which creates the illusion of a character to an audience. If done well, the audience will witness drama and vicariously experience the life of the characters.
An actor should always remain true to himself. True beauty comes from honesty. There are many methods and techniques; however, an actor should never rely soley on one technique. Acting should not be internalized. It should be projected outward toward achieving a goal. An actor should not concentrate on attaining a certain state of mind or emotion for a scene but always remain courageous and act on impulses to obtain an object. Actors should be self-reliant and refrain from criticism. After a performance, an actor should know what he needs to work on for next time based solely on his own instincts and common sense. Don't listen to what charlatans have to say. Be brash, move, act! Acting is not "believing." To actually believe you are the character you are playing is delusional. There is no art in "belief." An actor should act with his will. The best performances are when actors make strong choices and stick to them. The imagination is where art comes from and preparation is where inspiration comes from. The technique I use combines the internal and external methods of acting. By using external surroundings and environment, as well as the costume, hair, makeup and hygiene, the psychological intricacies of the character come to life. Once I have attained the external demeanor of the character, with great focus, the character becomes believable through mind, body, and voice. Verified Credits (0)Worked with Austin Behl?
