About Me

Letisha McFarlane found her passion for the performing arts during her elementary studies. Throughout elementary she took part in school shows and plays, joined the Girl Scouts of America and performed in the group “Tomorrows Future.” She acted and danced.

Letisha proceeded to Mahalia Jackson I.S.391 from grades 6th through 8th where she continued performing with “Tomorrow’s Future” and also took part in school plays and activities. While attending Mahalia Jackson she won an art contest.

She was accepted into Edward R. Murrow High School, where she continued acting and dancing in school productions. Letisha tutored students in English, mathematics and other disciplines. She also joined the gospel choir and took part in poetry recitals. During these years she also held the secretarial office for ARC, the “African Renaissance Coalition”. Letisha graduated from Edward R. Murrow High with a diploma in Fine Arts.

Following High School she attended Bergen Community College. While attending Bergen Community College she was a member of LASA, the “Latin American Student Association” and the “Caribbean Club.” She modeled and recited poetry for fundraising fashion shows for these two organizations and was also part of the Cross Country team. She starred in a public access television commercial titled “Say No to Sex.” During her tenure at Bergen Community College she maintained a 3.5 grade point average and was on the Deans List. She graduated with an Associate in Arts. After graduation Letisha worked at the Clinique Counter in Macy’s where she honed her cosmetology skills.

Letisha was accepted into the Fashion Institute of Technology. During this time period she worked as a Hair show model for Audrey’s Hair Concepts, Hat show model for Piazza’s Place and Fashion Show model for Jaminah Designs and was also a promotional model for the Maxis group. Her print work includes modeling for Africa Imports. In this same year she had extra roles in the feature film, “Bad Company” with Anthony Hopkins and Chris Rock and “Men in Black II” with Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones. She continued to maintain a 3.5 grade point average and successfully received her second Associate in Applied Science degree in one year. After accomplishing this, the Fashion Institute of Technology extended the offer for her to study abroad at Polimoda in Florence Italy, part of the Fashion Institute of Technologies International Program. While at Polimoda she performed in a student movie short titled, “Jezebel.” After a year abroad studying international design and fashions she returned with new found skills that assisted her in completing her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the Fashion Institute of Technology in three years. During her final year back she had the opportunity to have a walk on role in the HBO film “Undefeated” with John Lequizamo. She also landed a Product Development Internship with Armani Exchange.

In the years to follow Letisha worked as an assistant designer for various companies and completed several prom dresses and Bridal gowns. She held the title of Miss Panama USA and was a participant in Miss New Jersey USA, the preliminary for Miss USA. She has also shown her fashion collection throughout the Tri-state area.

Letisha’s acting career has expanded. She has been in several films and stage plays and done voice-over work. One of her roles was Angie in the trailer “Surrender,” now named "Gang Girl." She starred as the Angel of Joy in the stage play “Sistah Scrooge” and Sister Sally in the "Amen Corner." Her voice-over work can be heard on-line as Nicole in the comedic series “The Shyster Club.”

Most recently Letisha has worked as a freelance make up-artist for Laura Mercier and the cable TV "The What TV Show." She modeled for "Paris in New York", was featured in a 2012 Swimsuit Calendar and played the supporting actress in the
"Love Fit to Box" trailer.
