About Me
Hi — I’m Dave. I’ve been behind a camera since 1979 and working professionally since 2009. I’ve been voted “Best Pet Photographer in San Diego” on the 10News A-List, and my work has been recognized by The Art of Photography Show and other international competitions. On the commercial side, I’ve worked with clients like Starbucks, Deepak Chopra, PetSmart, Petco, and a range of local businesses. I genuinely love what I do—and I’m grateful it also lets me volunteer with animal rescues.
My passion is portraiture, especially on location where the environment becomes part of the story. That said, I also love creating in the studio. I’m always refining my craft, exploring new techniques, and investing in tools that elevate the final image. I’m here to connect, collaborate, and book paid work. I’m reasonably priced and happy to work within your budget. I shoot people of all ages, shapes, sizes, and backgrounds. We can co-create something together, or if you prefer, I can take the creative lead and guide the session. While I do appreciate and enjoy creating artful, intimate, and evocative imagery, my work spans a wide range of styles—and I’m intentional about adapting perspective and tone to suit the subject and the story. If we work together, I do have a few standard policies: • Simple paperwork — A short, plain-English service agreement (paid work) or a model release (trade). It protects both of us. I can send it in advance via email. • Clear communication — We’ll exchange phone numbers to coordinate details, confirm 24 hours prior, and stay in touch day-of. If I don’t hear from you within that window, I’ll assume the shoot is canceled. • Escort policy — You’re welcome to bring one mature escort (not a partner or parent). This helps keep the session focused and drama-free. Do they want to shoot too? Amazing. I'll make double use of each lighting scenario I build. None of this is personal—it’s just what keeps things running smoothly. Once we’ve worked together and built trust, I’m naturally more flexible. Thanks for reading.
