About Me

I want to define myself as an amateur photographer, even when I got classical training in an advertising studio – with large-format cameras and film development in the analog lab. At the end of the 80s, I began to experiment with digital processes: scanner, Atari computer, and black-and-white laser printer. The fascination to control the whole process until the print-publishing in the form of a book or magazine led to further training in the early nineties: Photoshop, QuarkXPress, Illustrator, etc.. This decision was followed by several years as a digital operator in a Berlin photo lab where I started to work with and for international artists to realize the output of some of the first digital artwork, continued in my own company Artificial Image. This led to the fact that I rarely have time for my projects. So, today I only take pictures when I feel like it. This is what I mean by freedom of photography.

But, as I said, I work with photography almost every day: as a printmaker, I scan films (with Hasselblad Flextight, Creo Eversmart Supreme, and a ScanMate drum scanner), develop the RAW data in Lightroom and Capture One, edit the image data and print them on paper - as a service. And have many inspiring conversations about photography.

What you see of my work here on the model index is rather atypical for me: I work with models rather rarely. However, I am now looking for interesting characters (female) for a long-term project.

If you're up for TFP shoots (I mean TFP literally: in return, you get a printed portfolio of the best images), just get in touch.
