June 02, 2012 4:32am Thanks! Hmmm, that's a good question. I never know if it's going to work out, but I'm always happy when it does. I start with a very accurate drawing of the image. Then I focus a lot on value and just try to capture the most important parts of the image with single knife marks. (I leave it up to the mind of the viewer to fill in the rest of the detail.) I make the marks quickly and try to keep that element of spontaneity in there.
