July 10, 2020 8:23am Thank you, I appreciate it. This series -- "falling / floating" -- is about reappropriating personal, “traumatic” childhood experiences: I used to get tonsillitis annually November - February every few weeks, which included a high fever, hallucinations, and vertigo:
I would lie in bed in a semi-conscious state with vertigo, hallucinating that I was falling and floating uncontrollably from thousands of feet high, past blurs of colors and textures; if I contorted my body “just so,” when I eventually hit the ground (like one of my favorite childhood cartoon characters, “Wyle E. Coyote”), I would not die, but immediately begin falling again from the top . . over and over in a terrifying loop, until the fever broke.
