I was roped into a teacher/advisor position while teaching high school. We had a hard time lining up student/photographers so I became the de facto photographer and it stuck from there.

My main thrust right now is actor's head shots (but I won't turn away corporate head shots). As an actor myself, I love supporting/collaborating with fellow actors. Technically speaking, head shots are pretty simple assignments; but they are a unique challenge because the goal is not to 'put on' an attitude or 'sell' something. They are ALL about capturing the actor's presence in a moment. Having an acting background creates a great synergy because we are speaking the same performance language.

It's an awesome moment when you know that your teamwork with the subject/actor has captured something that lifts them off the page.

Modelmayhem is a chance to add to my portfolio and network with other artists who are passionate about their craft.
