“Phil Sutherland @philip.sutherland is a proud Métis artist and photographer whose practice centres on storytelling through the creative use of light. His work spans commercial photography, large-scale public
art, and interactive installations that invite audiences to engage with place, identity, and community.

With more than three decades of experience in the arts, Phil is deeply committed to community-based practice, mentorship, and public engagement. He is the Founder and Executive Director of Parteger Community Arts / West Toronto Photography Group, where he develops programming that connects artists and communities through workshops, events and accessible creative
initiatives.

Phil has curated and produced major public exhibitions across Canada and internationally. In 2024, he curated and produced Community Postcards at the Canadian National Exhibition, featuring 140 large-scale photographic works installed across more than one kilometre of public space.

He operates Revprint studio 205 in Toronto and has been an Elinchrom equipment user for decades in his daily photography work.”
