Hi, I'm Thom. My dad gave me an interest in photography as a young kid, and I've been seriously shooting since 2003. I'm in my 50s and want to create some cool emotive art.

I live in the Portland, Oregon area now. (Really, Vancouver, WA.) My partner is a professional photographer. She's awesome!

I want to make some Art with other creative spirits. I'm drawn to quiet moments, moments between, suspended anticipation, timelessness, mindful quietude, dream states, dance. I think the human form is lovely.  I also love capturing poetic images, a quiet romanticism.

I am doing four series:

1. Human Form in Motion and Position: dancers, yoga practitioners, gymnasts, fire twirlers, aerialists, etc.  In classic leotards or minimal simple clothing or draping, looking eternal.  The human form, exerting or at rest, as Art.

2. Pictorialist / Vintage Fine Art Nudes, previously for my late wife's mixed-media project.  Kinda quaint and old-timey. She took the prints and applied paint and gesso, made a cool, dimensional artwork.  May work on those techniques myself going forward to honor her. I have a replica Petzval lens that might work well for this.

(I will respect your modesty requests in the release and all final images as well. That said, you have the same stuff as 50% of the people on the planet, so it's not that big a deal!)

4. Light painting. The subject is in darkness, and I paint light upon them with flashlights, LEDs, etc, and the background to make a magical image. To see some examples:
